چکیده
Electron spin resonance (ESR) is a powerful spectroscopic technique used to investigate samples with unpaired electrons in broad range of scientific fields. High-frequency ESR (HF-ESR) spectrometers operating at sub-THz frequencies are mostly custom-made non-standard solutions. This article presents set six different exchangeable sample holders fast-loading flange for spectrometer high magnetic fields up 16 T and temperature ranges 4–400 K. Here, we report on the concept, design, illustrative measurements non-resonant liquid solution, polycrystalline-compressed powders, oriented single crystals, electrical devices under irradiation, as well transferred from ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) systems without air contamination. Our solution expands usage possibilities HF-ESR spectroscopy, showing that one presented concept enables wide applications.

Aqueous sample holders for high-frequency electron spin resonance
A quasioptical approach is utilized to design a resonator and sample holder for aqueous samples for high-frequency ~250 GHz! electron spin resonance ~ESR! spectroscopy. A disk shaped sample geometry was chosen to match the field contours of the fundamental mode in a Fabry–Perot resonator. A transmission-line analysis is used to determine the optimum sample geometry while taking into account dif...

Electron spin resonance (ESR)1 has developed over the past several decades as a technique to provide information on the electronic structure of organic, inorganic, biological, solid state, and surface molecular species. These include organic free radicals,2 biradicals, triplet excited states, and most transition metal and rare earth species. Biological applications, in addition to studies of th...
متن کاملMAGNETISATION AND ELECTRON SPIN RESONANCE STUDIES OF TETRAHEDRAL AMORPHOUS CARBON
The magnetisation and electron spin resonance (ESR) spectrum of two specimens of tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), deposited from a filtered cathodic arc, were measured over a wide temperature range. The magnetisation was found to consist of superparamagnetic, paramagnetic and diamagnetic contributions. The superparamagnetic contribution resembled that recently found in carbon prepared from ...
متن کاملElectron spin resonance scanning probe spectroscopy for ultrasensitive biochemical studies.
Electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy's affinity for detecting paramagnetic free radicals, or spins, has been increasingly employed to examine a large variety of biochemical interactions. Such paramagnetic species are broadly found in nature and can be intrinsic (defects in solid-state materials systems, electron/hole pairs, stable radicals in proteins) or, more often, purposefully introdu...
